Andrea Lugo, DMD
Growing up in a supportive and loving family in Colombia, I was encouraged to pursue a profession of my choosing. Living in a city with no available dentist, I thought, “Here’s an opportunity!” As it turned out, I had the interest, ability and commitment to community well-being.
Graduation from Universidad El Bosque Dental School was soon followed by four years of employment with SaludCoop and Gales Group conducting bridge and supportive crown implementations and cosmetic dental procedures as well as responding to emergencies. My career was launched.
It was during these early years, supporting adults and children alike from all walks of life, that I truly recognized the importance of dental care to overall health.
To further my knowledge, and expand upon my life experiences, I headed north to attend Boston University School of Dental Medicine, graduating with a DMD in 2016. Following graduation, I had the privilege of serving as a BU Dental clinician and faculty member for nearly five years. My Training as a GP at BU included mentoring students and working in clinical settings with the latest digital technology in the field—a value-add allowing me to deliver predictable treatment outcomes.
Boston served me well, but in pursuit of an alternate family-oriented community, my family and I embarked on a new journey and relocated to Texas.
Serving the community and families is one of my passions. I have volunteered for community outreach in Colombia, Boston, Give Kids a Smile, HDA and Midland schools teaching and educating kids and families about dental health as well as providing the tools for the proper use of toothbrushes, dental floss and toothpaste. There is no service too small.
